Ensemble director's survey

Post by Monkey »

A mate of mine in Queensland, Australia is doing a course that requires him to do a survey. If you are involved with directing ensembles and have time to answer these questions, please reply direct to Steve at: s_t_ridler@iprimus.com.au

Survey

Do you have a strategy for selecting music for your ensemble, if yes please explain ?

What is your first consideration when selecting repetoire for your ensemble ?

How do you describe what is quality in music, and how would you assess that ?

What does the term 'good music' mean to you and how would you interperate this term ?

How would you assess whether repetoire is worth spending time on and is worth preparing ?

How do you decide whether the musical maturity of the repetoire fits the maturity of your ensemble ?

Please indicate the town / city where you are writing from. Any other personal details are optional.

You can create a poll here yourself (or get your friend to do it) by posting a new topic and attaching the poll to it.
