Percussion and danger money

You know, I should consider playing to be well and truly behind me. I've only
played twice this year and both times I've sustained injuries.
Time 1: Rockville Brass Band, Henry V bass drum causes bruise to my left hand's little
finger.
Time 2 (last night): Dodworth Colliery MW Band, Pines of Rome timpani causes nasty
blister on thumb of left hand.
This must be divine judgment. I promise not to yell "more" at percussionists when
I'm conducting. Actually it's entirely possible that I won't keep to that promise.
