Playing Carols Outside

Rant mode engaged.
Last night I heard a band (who's name will remain concealed to protect the guilty) playing
carols outside Tesco. They were so far out of tune I had to walk away very quickly.
There are many problems associated with playing a brass instrument outside, many of which
relate to tuning, yet the band seemed indifferent to this, failing to tune once, even
though it must have been obvious how it was impossible to listen to them, they were so
far out. This does no favours to the movement.
Conductors: please please take a few moments to check your band is in tune, especially
outside at this time of year.
End of rant.
