That's why I always did Guildhall exams.  They are much more challenging
than Associated Board (many pieces on the Grade 7 Guildhall syllabus
featured on the Associated Board Grade 8 syllabus).  Plus, for non-
theorists such as myself (whoever heard of a theoretical bass
trombonist?? - said it myself before anybody else had the chance to!),
you can take up to Grade 7 without having Grade 5 theory!
