King’s Park Brass: Sunday Night Brass: Sunday 27th March 2011

King’s Park Brass makes a welcome return to St Andrews in the Square, in Glasgow’s Merchant City, on Sunday 27th March, for a concert with special guests the Glasgow Youth Choir. This will be the second time these two musical ensembles have appeared together, following their successful appearance last year at the same venue.
The stunning surroundings of this beautiful 18th century restored church promises to make this a memorable musical evening.
The programme is a varied one, incorporating the music of Burns and well known show tunes, with the highlight of the evening being Peter Graham’s “Shine as the Light”, a classic of the British Brass Band repertoire.
Featured players will be Scott Law (“Send in the Clowns”), Jennifer Aitken (“All I ask of You”) and Gemma Collins (“Benedictus” from “The Armed Man”).
The band’s conductor Chris Bradley – principal cornet player with the Whitburn Brass Band – said, “The band has again worked hard to produce an exciting range of music and I’m delighted to be conducting them once again in this beautiful venue.”
The concert starts at 7:30pm and tickets are priced £6/£5 concession, available at the door.

About King’s Park Brass

King's Park Brass is a traditional brass band based on the south side of Glasgow. The band plays regular concerts in and around Glasgow, and often takes part in events to raise money for charity. In addition to the main band, the organisation runs a youth programme including two bands. Tuition is provided free of charge in order to offer local children the best opportunity possible to learn to play a brass instrument.
