kelly mouthpiece???
i am 14 years old and i was marching in our local parade when i relized how cold my mouthpiece acually was. it was freezing!!! so i got on the web and was looking at the kelly mouthpieces. the plastic ones i was just wondering if they are any good? and i noticed that it wanted to know if i wanted a large shank or small shank i asume this is the part of the mouth piece that will actually be inside the trombone? am i corect? i have a standard yamaha trombone with small bore. do i need small shank or large shank?

I have a friend who uses a plastic mouthpiece for the bass trombone, but was not happy with the sound, so only now uses it at home. I guess you'd just have to try it.

I have sold the crystal clear mouthpieces to some of my local teachers because they can use them to check pupils embouchure.
I wouldn't suggest the Kelly mouthpiece as a long-term answer but they are good for parade work, their not as expensive and with the numerous colours offer a hint of fun.
