Tuba to Cuba - a concert in aid of young Cuban musicians
Tuba to Cuba is a continuing series of concerts organised by Nick Newland to raise money for second ahnd instruments to send to primary schools in Cuba. It is run with the support of the Cuban Embassy and this summer will the see the third large concert by young, London-based musicians.
As well as symphonic band, orchestra and choir, I am also intending to include a brass band in the concert. Though I have all the necessary players, we are somewhat short of instruments. If anyone has cornets they are willing to lend us for this concert, or can suggest ways of cheap hire etc. then please contact Nick Newland at tuba2cuba@hotmail.com.
