Old and New Instruments?

Post by tigger908 »

Whats the differnce between old and new instruments. I've heard instruments refered to as Imperial etc.

Im thinking about buying myself a soprano corent and I wonder if the age will make any difference?

I remember once upon a time playing an Imperial horn after learning for 2/3 years on a Sovereign. My playing went backwards, despite having lessons and practising every day. I can't speak for any other instruments of course, but I don't recommend an Imperial horn. I'll probably get a load of posts now accusing me of dissing the Imperial from a group of its most loyal fans, but it's my view and my experience of the instrument. So there! :)
