Hi all
My young son has decided to try to learn to play the trumpet. We have hired a Jupiter 600n. Its a little sad and the valves stuck. I cleaned them up and applied the "oil" and everything seems fine.
Now heres the but. After putting them back in there original position (or so i thought) They were obvisouly wrong (blocked) I had to swap them around to where we believe they now are correct.
Is there a real idiots guide to getting the valves in the correct hole and the right way round.
I found the holes numbered but couldnt see anything on the valves.
any help much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Martin

i don't know a lot about valves, but i'd advise you to oil them one at a time, and don't have them all out at the same time, which is what i do and when you wash it , it's best to leave them in a line in the order you took them out. As for getting them the right way round, you either have guides on the valve, so it's impossible to get them in the wrong way or look at where the tubes come out of the valve casing and line it up by eye.
Hope this helps

I agree wih the last post too, however in a lot of cases, there are tiny marks on the valves saying 1,2 and 3 if not on the side perhaps on the bottom of the valve, I will post an picture of what I meant later on today if that will help? (edit:- just noticed the age of the post so not sure if still relevant =p )
