I am currently looking at new euphs so I can retire my old round stamp Sovereign. Wilsons & Cortois are favourite at the moment. The Wilsons Large bore 2950 is the only type I've tryed to have as good a sound as my old Sovereign to date plus great intonation and playability, still haven't been able to try the willsons M/L bore 2900.
What I'm trying to solve is the old adage of whether to go for lacquer or silver plate. Does lacquer really sound more melow/ darker and why!
Aparrently it does and this is due to it being thicker than silver plate....true?
Thanks for any comments
