Friday 6th August – The Chequers Inn, Battle
An evening in the car park chez Ricky. Last year, the floodllights were balanced precariously on top of a wobbling pile of music on a car roof. Our professionalism and high standards of presentation know no bounds.
Sunday 22nd August – Abbey Green, Battle, 3pm
Showing off for the tourists. As long as it doesn't rain.
Friday 27th August – The Chequers Inn, Battle
Another evening in the car park chez Ricky...where will we balance the floodlights this time?
Sunday 29th August – Hever Castle, Kent
Another chance to meet people dressed up as mediaeval types. Hopefully giving us a laugh by scaring our esteemed conductor with their horses again.
Sunday 29th August – Devonshire Square (etc), Bexhill-on-Sea, early evening
Hot-foot from Hever, the band gets to dress up in bakers' costumes (complete with chef hats) and take part in some street theatre. Yes, really.
Sunday 5th September – France
The long-awaited Return of the Band Day Out (seats on the coach are available if anyone wishes to watch the carnage). Paul, bored with being merely Lord of the Manor of Sedlescombe, has spread his property empire overseas. Apparently, inviting us over there to play is a good way of integrating with his new neighbours. Cue shocked French peasants and stampeding livestock...
Sunday 12th September – East Grinstead ("hall next to Chequer Mead theatre"!)
St Catherine's Hospice Concert
Sunday 26th September – Deal bandstand
The best-organised bandstand series around, with the best resident audience by some way, draws to a close by erm...asking us to play the prestigious final concert. Ha! Eat that, Royal Marine band!
NB: if any Marines read this, I was joking...
Saturday 9th October– Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone, Kent
SCABA Autumn Contest
