Does anyone believe that test pieces should not be allowed to be played for a set amount of time before and after the regional or national competitions?

Not from the announcing time untill the contest?

I believe that rules should be in place restricting area/national test piece usage before and after the area/national contest, because certain bands have abused the current system. eg. Michelmersh 2003 played the area test piece for the actual adjudicator at a local contest befor the contest and then won the areas (3rd section).

You want to stop bands playing music?

and as for an adjudicator hearing a band play the piece before the contest......

he will have heard the mistakes too, and wouldnt be able to... or even want to make an effort to remember the band.. when sat in a box listening to 20 bands on the same piece!

come on,

get a life!

You can't stop anyone playing anything.

but.... I would question anyones desire to play the same piece several times in a year... thats boring, presenting a 'static' attitude.
