A Hawkes Excelsior Sonorous E flat soprano cornet, circa 1914.
This blows a dream (I asked 2 trumpet players to test it for me) with good valve compression and a nice long shank to bring it down to low pitch.
It was lacquered at one time and is mostly now just brass, but still looks clean. I have had a few dents removed and one brass patch fitted.
Although a smaller bore compared to todays instruments, this would be ideal for a student, or as a 2nd. instrument, rather than a cheap foreign student brand.
No case or mouthpiece, £120 ono.
