The classical side of the Euphonium makes it’s debut in the Proms at St. Jude’s series of lunchtime concerts for schools on June 16th. in Hampstead.
The featured soloist is Charley Brighton, soloist with the B.B.C. Winds based at Maida Vale Studios and a performing artist for Willson Band Instruments of Switzerland.
He will be performing with the Nonesuch String Orchestra conducted by Christopher Dawe and will give the premiere of Summer Celebration, the 4th. and final movement of Music of the Seasons, composed for him by Joe Miserendino, from Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
The other work featuring the Euphonium will be the beautiful Romance (K447) by Mozart, originally for French Horn.
Guests also include David Worswick and Emmanuel Salvador on Violins.
The concert starts at 12.45 and admission is free.
