Why not start a Never-ending Story?

The idea is that each contributor adds a bit to the story line, leaving as many cliffhangers as possible. Can go on for ever and may even be hilarious. :lol:

I'll start:

As the sun rose on a new day, stirrings in the barn indicated that . . .
Of course I don't look busy, I did it right the first time.

.. . the band were quite, just sitting waiting. Like pray locked in a preditory gaze, no jokes or chatter 2nd and 3rd corents abnormally silent. The closing of a door returns eyes from their hopeless search for saviour on celling, floor and wall. Eyes and minds now fixed on . .. .

...... the state of the percussion section who where still drunk from the night before's drinking competition with the Bass Section. Yet no one could understand why the MD hadn't said anything to them........

The weird thing was, they had to march up to the nearest pub - the navigation inn, where the found that they had just walked / marched 4 miles! (truist me - ivd done it!)
