I wonder if anyone would be interested in finding out more about an event which takes place in northern France every Christmas time – a couple of outdoor concerts in which 500 (or maybe 600 this year) tubas of every shape and size play christmas songs and carols. This year it’s on Saturday December 18th in the centre of Lille and Sunday December 19th in Le Portel near Boulogne.
I’m an English euphonium player living in Picardy, France, and I take part in this event every year, being responsible for a lot of the scores and now in the process of building the web site. I’d be very pleased to get British tuba players to take part – a few already do.
Have a look at the site http://www.tubas-de-noel.com/2003
The HAZEBROUCK DUNKIRK link leads to sets of photos of last year’s rehearsals and concerts.
On line inscription is on the page http://www.tubas-de-noel.com from which you can get on to the English version and to an information page too.
It would be good to hear from any one interested
