Starting in October there will be new interest in the outcome of major brass band contests
Virtual Brass Band Challenges
How will they work?
Those involved will register themselves as a conductor of a Virtual Brass Band. Choose your bands name (max 20 characters) and which regional qualifyer is local to your band.
All entrants will be asked to select FIVE bands from the National Finals who they think will do well. Each (real) band will be placed in a grade and points awarded depending on how well they do (eg if you pick Black Dyke and they win you will score a nice number of points for yourself but if you pick Fishburn and they win you will score a huge number of points).
Watch-out for the (virtual) Adjudicator of course. If it is a 5-STAR man like 'Peter Perfect' or 'Brian Heardwell' the final result will be an accurate reflection of the virtual contest. If however it's a 1-STAR man, 'Coff Ian Dodger' or perhaps 'Major B Lunder' then the placings could be a bit interesting, and we ALL know how that feels.
The plan is to continue with The Virtual Regionals, The Virtual Grand Shield, The All Virtual Masters and The Virtual Open before returning to the VAH (Virtual Albert Hall) for the Nationals again.

Before each contest i will mail you with the line-up of bands and theior grades. Mail me back with your tips before the deadline and you're in.
This should be a lot of fun, so why not enter a band (or two) the more the merrier. Don't forget to tell your friends at rehearsal tonight as well, if you introduce new members there will be bonus points for you at a contest of your choosing.
