Northern Area of the NABBC

On 31/3/07 the Northern Area of the National Association of Brass Band Conductors held its AGM in the bandroom of Lofthouse 2000, West Yorkshire. Ted Griffiths was reappointed as Area Chairman, following Martin Obermuller's appointment as the National Treasurer, Carol Caton was appointed Treasurer. Andrew Whittaker stated that he felt it was time to step down after three years as the Area Secretary, Allan Holdsworth was appointed as the new secretary. Following Eric Jessop's resignation from the post of Area Vice-Chairman, Andrew Whittaker has been appointed as the Area Vice-Chairman.

Colin Hardy and Sydney Swancott were appointed as Area VPs, Sydney will also continue as Area President. All the other area VPs were re-elected.

A sub-committee was established to discuss future events and to arrange the 2008 National Convention, which it is hoped will be held in the Doncaster region. The sub-committee consists of Roy Newsome, Sydney Swancott, Martin Obermuller, Allan Holdsworth and Carol Caton.
