Besson or Courtois Euphonium

Post by euphamism-mum »

 Can anybody out there give me some advice on euphoniums. Having come into some money I have decided to buy myself a euphonium. I currently play a Besson sovereign 967 and have no problem with it but have also heard good things about the Antoine Courtois instruments. Does any one know how they compare and what the retail prices are like?

There are lots of different opinions out there regarding the top model euphs. like Besson, Coutois, Yamaha, Willson etc.etc.

With any of these brands, you are not going to go far wrong, but at the end of the day, be your own judge, and be happy with the one you choose and pay for. Make sure you try as many as possible, even of the same brand as they can differ a great deal between themselves.

Also make sure you get to blow it in your band for at least a week.

Happy hunting
